Quick and easy way to set up the Weigand barrel fixture to cut the lugs. Thank you again Jerry for sharing this technique.Image

Excellent technique it appears. Barrel a little loose to allow the drill blank to even out contact? I haven't seen anything with Jerry in awhile. Is he doing okay?

Thanks for sharing, But do you know if the lugs were cut square to start with?

Far better technique without a doubt! I can't tell you how frustrating and time consuming it was adjusting the Weigand set screw to get the barrel lugs level. LOL You had to have a very delicate touch to get the indicator to zero or you would be on the other side of zero in a blink of an eye!

Something else I did was re-tapped the barrel set screw to an 8-40 thread. So much easier to make that tiny final adjustment to get the feet parallel to the quill.
