I have a mossberg 500 with both a slug and 24 in vent rib barrel.

On the slug barrel there is a fair amount of play when barrel is looked up with receiver.
On the vent rib the rib is a few thousands of center and there is a minuscule amount of play. Can't tell its there unless to are purposely looking for it.

My question is 1. Is there normal?
2. Will it cause any problems in future with the steel barrel locking in aluminum receiver?
3. Is it something I can fix at home, is it even necessary to fix it?

Thanks. P.s the barrel is sitting flush with the reciver and barrel nut is tight in both these scenarios

There should be a minimal amount of play. I would get it checked by an SME or call mossburg
