I see these beautiful dimpled finishes on this forum and can't keep but wonder how they are done? Anybody willing to explain in detail?

As noted below, I have a RIA with a smooth front strap and a mill.

Are you talking about Golf balls or stippling?

An example of golf ball texture:

Hopefully he can divulge. I have a RIA with a smooth front strap and a mill. Someone help me put 2 and 2 together!

He probably won't as it is his proprietary process. Don't blame him as he worked hard to develop that. A mill is only the start. You need the fixturing to allow you to properly index the front strap for each cut. And the math to calculate the locations.

This is kind of funny. You guys are giving more info about this process than Chuck ever has!

OP: This has been asked in the past a time or two. I would love to know myself but PW has it down and I haven't seen it done better.

He certainly has a classy technique he has developed. Maybe I can develop my own ;) If I do hopefully it doesn't cause user lacerations.
