Luckily it was my right hand(I'm a southpaw). I paniced, pulled it off of the front of my left-hand and slapped it on my left wrist to control the gun. Slide got it with I think, the last round of five. I'm so left-handed I couldn't hook one with it right anyway.

Glad your OK Dave. The first custom gun I ever bought, at 18, was a modified Gold Cup. My future first ex wife and I went to the range, she shot first and blistered off 4 rnds from ground to sky..I then proceeded to empty a full mag, mostly from the berm to the sky. That started my gunsmithing career. That gun had almost no pretravel and almost zero overtravel. Took months to figure out what was actually happening.
Luckily no injuries, cept dirty drawers. She and the gun are both long since gone. The memory of both still lingers....

Dave,
Just to be clear.
I certainly hope you didn't take my question the wrong way. I am quite sure you know much more than I in this arena. It's the learning that is my goal.

Jeff, the main problem I had with Arnel was that he had a big accent and talked really fast. He's from the Phillipines. Personally(For what it's worth), I had never heard of a searspring leg losing tension but, I guess it could be possible. Then, of course, is the point Chuck made, I may not have gotten the true story.

Great post Big Jon! I was glad I could easily follow along and knew most of the material.

The top trigger in this picture is an STI trigger. The arrow pointing to the "filing pad" is actually where the over travel set screw is located. I didn't realize that area was actually a nice pad that I could file down if I needed to for increasing over travel.

Dave's triggers are among my favorites. One reason is that the screw is fixed. Also, his triggers seem generous in the amount of material on the top and bottom of the pad, enough to remove anywhere you need to get a great fit. :)
