anyone have some input on the best ambi safety out there? After the Wilson BP I mean. I've heard some good things about the Ed Brown. Saw another one on Brownells site from Mueschke. What would you get if you couldn't get a Wilson?

I want to choose "All of the Above", but thats not an option.

In all seriousness, IPSC is all I have competed in, but I am interested in IDPA and Three-gun competitions and may get involved eventually

I really like high thumb, wide paddles. They don't cause me any problems when carrying because I just use a cover garment.

I'm a lefty, and use the old Caspian ambi thumb safety. It's been discontinued, and though it's a really tough one with the internal lock I prefer, I can't say it's a really good one. There's a lot of slop. It'll dependably block the sear, though, and its design is such that if it does break, it'll function as a single-side safety.

I've been looking at the current crop of internal locking safeties, and I'm likely going to get one. The Brown versions look excellent.
