I also had issues with feeding the Rainier HP plated bullets. Seating depth is critical and I think Rainier recommends seating them deep.

A friend gave me some plated 200 grain semi wadcutters that he had trouble with feeding in his guns. I tried them in my 1911s as well and tried different lengths but gave up. The guns we tried them in were Colt, Baer, Wilson, Dan Wesson, and Springfield. There wasn't a name on the box but I still have about 50 of them if you want some to try.
