Many years ago I bought a RCBS rock chucker and assorted items for reloading. I am interested in giving them to my son. He has just expressed a desire to reload. He is interested in 9mm and .45 acp. I want to buy him some powder and bullets and primers to get him started. What is better quality and proper items I could purchase for him to start with? I would appreciate it if you could give me some direction. Thanks unstyled L

What I use for .45ACP are pretty common choices, but I am by no means an expert.

Powder - Winchester 231

Bullets - 200 grain LSWC hard cast.

Primers - CCI

231 will load for both 9 and 45, and its what I use for my 9 loads but I prefer Clays for my 45 loads. I buy my bullets locally from Terry Labbe at Magnus bullets. He makes a 200gr LRN I really like. In jacketed bullets Hornady are great. I prefer Federal primers.
